Thomas Pierce
 hosted the first edition of the Aspen Snow Ball in support of Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research and the launch of Children’s Oncology Support fund (COSF) founded by Pierce.
 
The “black-tie fantasy” event was held at the St. Regis Aspen, the experience transported guests to an immersive “Narnia” featuring a cocktail reception with a silent auction, a gala dinner program with a live auction of exclusive bucket list experiences, artwork, and fine jewelry conducted by Jamie McDonald. Guests did enjoy a surprise opening performance by musical artist Asher Monroe, the dinner ended with a very special performance by Diana Ross.
 
Unforgettable highlights of the event included opening remarks by Thomas Pierce, providing the audience with the genesis of his initiative, as long as inspiring speeches by Marcia Gay Harden and Denise Rich. Laura Calabrese Kruger received the community leadership award for her philanthropy actions supporting Colorado based Shining Stars Foundation. Guests were dazzled by a balloon's raffle paddle that raised up to $450,000 and included prizes from Lugano Diamonds, Chopard, and a luxury trip by Kempinski Grand Hotel St. Moritz. The night continued with a live auction with a variety of art pieces and one-of-a-kind luxury items and experiences. Highlights of the auction included a live painting from artist Bradley Theodore, a boutique hotel takeover in cube, a five-night trip with helicopter transfers to Mount Everest, and the most iconic painting from Mr Brainwash.
 
International celebrities, philanthropists, and notable guests from all over the world helped raise $2.5 millions dollars in support of COSF’s launch and dedication to the development of more effective therapies for pediatric cancer patients. Proceeds from the event will go to Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research.
 
The initiative continues to raise funds through an online auction with incredible experiences and luxury lots open for bidding to support Gabrielle’s angel foundation for cancer research.

The event was hosted by Oscar winner and honorary chair Marcia Gay Harden, Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation founder and honoree Denise Rich, and COSF’s founder Thomas Pierce. Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research funds the best and brightest early career scientists whose research focuses on finding less toxic treatments for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and related blood cancers. 
Since its inception in 1996, the Foundation has funded more than $39 million in grants making it one of the largest non-governmental sources of grant support to blood cancer research in the nation. On average, eighty-eight cents of every dollar raised directly funds research.
