"Nostalgia”
​ tells the story of a man who lived much of his adult life outside of his home country, Italy, and when he went back to his small town Naples, where he was born decades ago he faced the past that he thought was dissolved over the years only to find out that in his mind still present like just happened. Felice Lasco in his teen years got involved with the wrong crew having as his best friend a career criminal who back in their young years showed high potential to be the next mafia boss. Felice remembers how Oreste saved his life once, and how they became best friends almost like brothers. Life of crime seemed to be right and fun without incident until his best friend killed someone during a robbery an unplanned incident out of schedule. Felice realized how dangerous and full of indifference almost carelessness, his friend was, and how close to stepping inside jail he was. Out of panic, he flees the country seeking to change his life and start a new one far away from the past the same past was hunting him for decades, and never left his memory. As a mature man, he only hopes to spend the rest of his life in his small town with his mother and his wife in harmony and happiness. Felice learned that his best friend from his teen years is now a mafia boss ruling the small town terrorizing the population and holding the power in his hands. Fearless he asked to see him again thinking everything will be good again and have a good laugh about the past. Ignoring his common sense he settled in town and continue with the plans to live in peace in his hometown. Little that he knows, life has changed dramatically over the past 40 years and the town he knew does not exist anymore so is his best friend the one he left without saying goodbye to 40 years ago. While he was exploring his hometown, and settle he paid a visit to the local priest Luigi Rega who is his best friend's arch-enemy, as he engage in several conversations with him, encountered the current landscape of the difficult situation people are going through since Oreste rules the town, and the priest decides to take him under his wing in order to protect him out of compassion and loyalty to Teresa Lasco, Felice's mother who has been devoted supporter of the priest's cause which is precise to end the criminal activity meaning to put Oreste Spaciano in jail. The meeting between Felice and Oreste took place at Spaciano's home while the population is trying to get rid of him and have a peaceful life this character is removing old feelings with tears corroborating that those memories are alive, and on the surface with anger and resentfulness. The meeting was not successful as Felice expected, and rather to continue the friendship Oreste said to him "the past does not exist" which is 100% true, the past only exists in our minds, and we can only bring it back to the present with our intentions keeping in mind that people had changed. Felice rather than going in the right direction chooses to go in the opposite direction not only because is an extremely naive individual but also because his mother died in the middle of all this making him feel guilty and lonely. The end of this story is pretty predictable almost right from the beginning which could qualify as deception, my choice here would be the priest Luigi would kill Oreste, that would it be awesome! 
​In this film, the acting is good as expected, and the right amount of minutes. Felice Lasco was played by Pierfrancesco Favino, Oreste Spasiano by Tommaso Ragno, and Padre Luigi Rega by Francesco Di Leva. For more information about the film and the cast go to
