On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, Jazz at Lincoln Center will hosted its milestone 30th Anniversary Gala— celebrating the depth, beauty, and diversity of jazz as an art form. This signature event, hosted by award-winning actress Glenn Close, brought together influential individuals from every industry in support of arts education.
The evening honored Lisa and Dick Cashin with the 2018 Ed Bradley Award and Tony Bennett— NEA Jazz Master, Kennedy Center Honors recipient, and multi-Grammy Award-winning icon— as the recipient of the 2018 Jazz at Lincoln Center Award for Artistic Excellence. Anchored by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, the event was showcase musical performances from some of the greatest living jazz performers and was boast a guest list of notable civic leaders, businessmen, entertainers and philanthropists of today, including Jon Batiste, Brandon Marshall, Eric Schneiderman, Judith Jamison, Paquito D’Rivera and Lloyd Blankenfein.
Proceeds from the gala were benefit Jazz at Lincoln Center’s education initiatives, reaching more than two million people around the world.
